The goal is to apply a mathematical model of hang time by using Newtons Second law of motion. We will be applying acceleration as a second derivative of the position function. Next solve for velocity. Lastly solve for time. This is how we calculate hang time. We apply hang time to the scenario of an athletes vertical jump.
